Stay & Eat

All tastes catered for

The New Inn, a beautiful 16th century former coaching inn, is located in the centre of Cerne Abbas. It provides modern rooms in traditional style and has an excellent restaurant.

Further up the road in Cerne Abbas, The Royal Oak and The Giant Inn provide traditional pub fare complete with open fires and a warm welcome, where you can sample a selection of beers including those from the Cerne Abbas Brewery.

In nearby Godmanstone, you can stay in a yurt on Green Valley Farm or stop for refreshments and buy local produce from the Farm Shop.

For a memorable holiday in an idyllic, Grade II listed semi-detached cottage, look no further than Little Thatch Cottage.  Set in the centre of Cerne Abbas, this former estate worker’s cottage features plenty of modern creature comforts, together with the charming character of the original 1830 cob build, especially the exposed oak beams.

The Giants Head Caravan and Camping Park on the Old Sherborne Road, just to the east of Cerne Abbas, offers an ideal location from which to explore the area.

About four miles north of Cerne Abbas lies the hamlet of Middlemarsh. In addition to a very nice pub, self-catering accommodation is available at White Horse Farm, where barn conversion cottages provide pet-friendly bases from which to explore the area.
