Shops in the Cerne Valley
Unlike many small Dorset villages, Cerne Abbas provides a good range of shopping opportunities. An excellent village shop and post office provides a wide range of daily essentials, a souvenir and gift shop offers something different for visitors and locals. A prize-winning Inn and two pubs provide a great choice of place for a morning coffee, lunch, an evening meal or a quick drink or two. We are really spoiled for choice.
A little further afield in Godmanstone is an organic food and coffee shop which makes a nice stop en route to Dorchester. Also you may not want to miss a visit to the Cerne Abbas Brewery, situated just south of Cerne Abbas on the A352.
Cerne Abbas Stores and Post Office
This excellent family-run, independent village shop forms the hub of the Cerne Valley community. Fresh bread and LOCAL milk are available daily as well as fruit, vegetables, meats and an excellent delicatessen selection. The extensive grocery section sells everything you are likely to need on a daily basis. Fresh fish is available on Friday from the local fishermen. They are open every day of the year from 8 am to 6 pm except for Christmas Day!
Part of the shop is also the local Post Office providing everything you expect.
