Getting Around The Cerne Valley

The Cerne Valley is located in Dorset along the A352 between Sherborne and Dorchester. From the north, the first place you will notice is Minterne Magna – the location of the Minterne Estate, house and gardens. The main road then bypasses the hamlet of Upcerne before you reach the centre of Cerne Abbas, home of the famous Cerne Giant. A good place to stop and explore the local pubs and shops. Further south towards Dorchester the road runs through Godmanstone where a stop at the Green Valley farm shop and cafe is worthwhile. You may even spot Green Valley Yurts in the adjacent field. The road then follows the river through Charminster to the county town of Dorchester.

By Bus

A limited bus service, South West Coaches no. 5, runs between Dorchester, Sherborne and Yeovil which stops in Cerne Abbas and Godmanstone. Details of this service can be found on South West Coaches site where you can also view all bus timetables.
