Villagers are welcome to attend this three-day event, afternoon or evening to revel under dark skies and experience the splendour of the heavens as seen through a variety of telescopes and binoculars. Visitors from far and wide will be enjoying a weekend of stargazing, astronomy talks and a quiz with prizes (and maybe the odd beer!), all in aid of Parkinsons UK. Talks will be held in the Tap Room at the Brewery and include:
Friday 6pm to 8pm: ‘How the Celts tracked the seasons and what this tells us about the Cerne Giant’ by Richard Miles
Saturday 6pm to 8pm: ‘Fuzzy Blobs: A Guide for the Perplexed’ by Steve Tonkin.
No entry fee for villagers but, as this is a charity fundraising event, donations are welcomed. Full details can be found at Eventbrite.co.uk.
