Dorchester Literary Festival

October 23, 2015 - October 25, 2015

Look out for the Dorchester Literary Festival, an exciting new cultural event for a town rich in literary associations.

Picturesque Dorchester and the unspoiled countryside and dramatic coastal scenery surrounding it has inspired many of Britain’s best loved writers, including Thomas Hardy, T E Lawrence, William Barnes, Ian McEwan and Tracy Chevalier.

With a programme of events highlighting the latest books by today’s most original authors, our new festival warmly welcomes book-lovers to this beautiful setting. Whether you want to hear about the latest novels, discover more about new biographies, recent books on history, art, politics and the natural world, or attend workshops on writing and publishing your own work, there will be something to delight and inspire you.

The festival’s main events will be held in the grand hall of the County Museum, a quirky Victorian building filled with a fascinating collection of exhibits to enjoy. A detailed programme of events will be available in late summer, or you can find out more about our exciting plans from our Facebook page
